About CheckTheMarkets
CheckTheMarkets is a markets commentary site running since 2006 — gold-bug analysis, Wall Street rumor coverage, charts that earn their space on the page, and guest contributors who actually trade.
CheckTheMarkets launched in 2006 from a trading desk in Chicago. The original premise was simple: most financial media outlets at the time were either pure cheerleaders, pure permabears, or generic wire-copy aggregators. We wanted a site that posted what the trading floor was actually saying — the rumors, the contrarian setups, the gold-bug fundamentals, the macro reads. Two decades and several full market cycles later, the site is still doing that. The archive is open: nearly 7,000 posts from 2006 through 2026, including our coverage of the GFC, the 2014-15 commodities crash, the 2020 COVID dislocation, the 2022 inflation regime change, and every "rumor" that turned out to be either prescient or a complete head-fake. We don’t do paywalls. We don’t do "premium signals". The site survives on a small group of long-standing affiliate relationships with brokerages and tools we’ve personally vetted, plus the occasional guest post from a contributor we trust.
We've been serving clients since 2006, building a reputation on reliability, clear communication, and results that compound over time.
